Day Nine – Ferry (N. Sydney) to Halifax
Miles: 385

We got up early on the ship but there was much in the way of breakfast. Everyone was in line early to get down to the car decks, and we thought we would just wait patiently and then get on the bikes and ride to breakfast. We did just that and there was a nearby Tim Horton's and we were there eating by 9:06. We rode down towards the Canso Causeway stopping to duplicate a pic from the past on a roadside pull over high above Englishtown. After we rode 90 miles we stopped for gas and a quick drink before continuing on and getting off the main road. I don't think we got more than 2 miles before the rain started. It was just a light mist but rain nonetheless. Our next stop was unplanned but we needed to make a quick top if you know what I mean what with all the water. We stopped to overlook the Queensport Lighthouse 1200 yards off in the Atlantic. We rode to Tor Bay Provincial Park and stopped for rain-free look around the boardwalks and beaches. Nothing special to see in the overcast sky of the mid-day. We continued on and stopped again at the Marie Joseph Provincial Park. This park was right on the water with Barren Island in sight. It was a nice little park, but what made it more nice was the sun was out and it was warm. We stretched out and really took our time here and enjoyed the scenery. It was pushing 4:00 so we set our sights on Halifax and didn't stop before we reached the nearby car wash to get the day's rain and grim off. Once we hit our hotel in downtown we got changed and went out to the breweries. We hit Propeller and 2 Crows before saying goodnight. It was a good day with not the best best weather but we never rode through any heavy rain.
