Day Eleven – Bangor to Binghamton
Miles: 550

Hey, no rain today! We started at Denny's which was next door to the hotel. We rode several miles on I-95 before exiting and running on US 2. In Farmington Falls we jumped off US 2 for a short time before re-joining outside of Wilton ME. We ran through Mexico ME and stopped in Rumford NH for another pic of Paul Bunyan and the falls there. US 2 follows the Androscoggin River and we have travelled this road many times and it never disappoints. On the other side of Gotham we said goodbye to the river and continued west before breaking away from US 2 and taking NH 115 down to US 302. We made a stop in Bath to ride over the covered bridge there and we enjoyed the sunshine and great views. Shortly after we crossed the Connecticut River and were in Vermont. We rode across the Tucker Hill Covered Bridge near the town of Thetford Center although we did not stop. We rode down VT 132 and onto I-89 for a brief run, and into the town of Bethel. We were planning to see the falls there but after riding through town we didn't see much worth stopping for so we quickly went back on our way riding on VT12. In the Killington area we stopped at Kent Pond for a little rest and to stretch our legs. Not much there but that was ok for us. It was 2:00 in the afternoon and we still had 250 miles to go, so we got going and rode without any stops to our hotel in Binghamton. We walked to a couple of breweries that were pretty good. Water Street brewing was good, but Galaxy Brewing had some good food and they put the Reds game on for us. A nice day without rain was very welcomed.
