Day One – Colby KS to Monticello UT Friday - 31 miles
We had planned to be in Monticello after our stay in Moab, but about 10 days out after reviewing the weather forecasts, we decided to start in Monticello. We arrived early enough in the day that we were able to take a ride Friday evening before it got too late. Our target for the day was Abajo Peak. It stands at over 11k feet so we also thought this would be a good test for our bike at altitude. They preformed well and we rode up with no problem. The bikes did have some hesitation when we really got on them, but overall they were fine.
