Adams County OH - Kirker Covered Bridge
7440-7498 Ohio 136
West Union, OH 45693

After our short visit to Valley Pike Bridge we headed south on Valley Pike and then east on Germantown Rd.  This road took us over to US 62 where crossed the river on the William H Harsha bridge.  This bridge connects the west side of Maysville KY to Aberdeen OH.  Bill was a U.S. congressman from Ohio's 6th district, and last served in 1981.  For some reason he had the bridge named after him.  Once over the river we jogged east on US 62 until we could head north on OH41.  This is a road we are familiar with and like to ride.  We blasted north through some decent twists and turns through Bradysville and Bentonville before we turned left on OH136.  The Kirker Bridge on OH136 is just south of McGlothen Road.  It can't be missed as the bridge sits in full view of the new road.  Just south of the bridge is the cemetery where Governor Kirker is buried.  Governor Kirker was the second Governor of Ohio.  The bridge is a multiple kingpost built in 1890 spanning 63' over the East Fork of Eagle Creek in Liberty Township.
